Can almonds go bad? How long can tuna out of the can last?

What are some good foods that once cooked can last for a while? My oats lasted a week and were fine.

How about a smoothie in the fridge? Any other foods you've made or found that have a long life?

Almonds will eventually go stale. For tuna I would go by smell and texture -- if it smells bad or is a little slimy don't eat it. Smoothies will last fine it the fridge but they'll separate after a while.

How fast foods spoil will depend on how fresh it was when you opened/prepared it and what are the conditions it's kept in (e.g. something vaccuum sealed in the fridge will last a lot longer than something sitting on a dirty counter on a 90 degree humid day). As a general rule most things will be fine for 2-3 days if refridgerated and 3-6 months frozen.

However, the above doesn't apply to dry goods. Things like oats, flour, nuts, etc. will last months if stored properly. And, apparently, Twinkies will last forever, so buy 'em by the case!
