A bit of advice. Never post a question that you want answered in the "runners" forum.

I will restate my question:

I don't hear a lot about post-running nutrition. I started running about 2 miles a day for my cuting phase and when I am done I just drink tons of water.

What should I be drinking? Anything particular?

I would have normal post workout shake (Carbs and Protein). You should replace both after a run.

I wouldn't say "same window of opportunity" as running will be different from lifting. You want to replace glycogen used in running and you want to keep protein up, as with distance running you will sacrifice some muscle. I think it will make the distance running less detrimental to your lifting gains.
