WEll i made this big thing of iced green tea-just made some normal green tea and then put it in the fridge with some ice. i addd a little bit of honey to make it taste good. Now i'm hooked. Is too much of this stuff bad for you? And if it is how much is too much??

thanks

moderation is always key, but its also all about relativity. Think about the sugars coming from the honey, and the caffiene in the tea. 2-3 cups a day shouldn't be bad at all. Any more than that would require knowing other factors, such as when you drink it all, water consumption, etc. Grean Tea and Honey? Knock your self out!

the honey affects your glucose levels.. id strive for trying to taste the green tea and appreciate it for what it's worth.. or order flavored green tea from stores like coffeebeantealeaf (full leaf), and try to avoid sweetening the tea. I try to ween myself off drinking anything caffeinated after 6pm~ish.. though I love having a cup of white tea before bed.

I have read that some of the studies showing health benefits were based on drinking 5 cups a day. So 2-3 wouldn't seem to be too much. As for the honey, probably depends on how sweet you're making it.

Re the caffeine, I cup supposedly has about 30% of the amount of a cup of coffee (this comes from the side of a box of "Good Earth" brand green tea), so 3 cups would equal about one cup of coffee.

You're hooked on the honey!!

As you can see from other replies, the caffine isn't too big a deal; plus, if you don't add the honey/sugar, you probably won't drink as much. A few glasses a day isn't too big a deal, and it's got good stuff in it. You can always make it a bit weaker, as well, if you really want to sip it all day.

If you mix up a big catch, use loose tea: cheapter, better quality. It's all I use; I brew a pot each afternoon.

I also make a big pitcher of iced green sometimes. I toss a quarter cup of Splenda into the pitcher, and drink whenever I want. (In addition to 1-2 cups of hot! )

Is there any difference between hot and cold green tea? cause i can't really stand hot green tea. my iced green tea is just a big pot of it that i stick in the fridge till it gets cold.

Sweet...maybe it'll help my non-existant ninja skills. I'll see how much of the stuff i can tolerate without a lot of honey-i did pretty good today-3-4 cups.
