question for my mother in law

She recently had a histrectomy (sp)..they recommended her to take a pill called Estrin-D to regulate menopause and lose weight...anyone know anything about this? I left a link on the bottom..thanks in advance.

While I have no idea if that pill does anything specifically for menopause, i tend to call shenanigans on anything that claims a single pill will cause fat loss. Was the primary goal of the pill to handle menopause?

seems to me like it basically just regulates post-menopausal hormone changes (which you're step-mom would see if she had all her insides taken out), and a side effect is a raised metabolism. Therefore, they market it as a diet pill for post-menopausal women as an after thought. Thats my interpretation anyways. Ask a doctor.
