Hello.
First, I would like to say that you guys have a great site here. It's really cool to find a place with so much info.

Second, a little bit about me. I am an ectomorph, 6 feet, 1 inch tall, 145 pounds. I've been an ectomorph ever since I grew up in junior high. I have been working out on an off for about two years and I always end up not going to the gym because I don't see any results (I see no mass gain). Now, I've done my reading so I feel I'm getting on the right track this time.

I read massive member's "weigh gain 101" and I'm gonna give the three day a week work out a try.

My question here would be about my nutrition. I'm in college and I spend a great deal of my day working on campus, so there are times when I can go 6 hours without food. What would you recomend I take to school for those inbetween hours?

Also, I'm looking for a protein powder or a weight gainer, could you give me some advice on some specific brands and web sites where I could buy some? Also, it can't be whey bacause I'm lactose intolerant.

Thanx for the help.

I shop at www.vitaminshoppe.com. They are cheaper than health food stores. You can search for protein powder and narrow it down to focus on proteins you can tolerate (soy??). Ditto for protein bars, which may help with your six hour daytime fast (not a good thing for trying to gain weight).

smoddelm, for whey I would actually reccomend proteincustomizer.com or bulknutrition.com

Both are dirt cheap and standup guys. allthewhey.com is pretty good too

If the whey is 100% lactose free I may be able to tolerate it. I tried using whey protein that was supposed to be 99.9% lactose free, but I couldn't tolerate it. I was thinking of getting egg protein, but I havent seen any.

The protein bars are a good idea. Do they sell them like in Costco where I could buy them in bulk for cheap?

Another thing you might want to check out is Scrawy to Brawny. It is a book written by some Mike Meija and John Beradi. Both frequent the site. Another member JohnKa was the test subject and it worked good for him here is another thread showing his before and after pics . JohnKa results

This book has a great workout routine and nutrion plans to bulk up. Check it out. Other than that eat alot but make it clean and don't give up. Even if you only see little gains at the start.

I might check that book out, looks good. Funny that I look like the skinny guy in the cover, only I have a more chest.

Hey man I'm doing StB right now and I gained 2 pounds already (1 week), I suggest you give it a try. Well worth the money for the read alone!
