I'm in a unique situation, I work my own hours, not tied down to any schedule. I normally go into work around 9:00 am and lunch around 11:00 am. Problem is, when I eat at 11:00, I go with the guys from work which is normally buffets! Since I started this job in November, I have quit working out nad gained 25 lbs. TIme to stop, started working out last week. Question is, I would like to start working out at 11:00 while everyone is at lunch to avoid bad eating, then eat after I workout (around 1:00pm), OK or not? Or would you eat clean at 11:00 and workout around 1:00pm. Only problem with that is I'm normally busier after lunch, setting me up for not going to gym.

I've recently started working out during my lunch period. Here's how my meal schedule goes, for what it's worth.

7-7:30 - Breakfast
10-10:30 - Snack of some sort (Bananna, maybe some almonds)
11:30 - Go workout (try and take a shake or something with me)
12:30 - 12:45 - Eat my lunch
3:30-4:00 - Snack again (usually more than the mid morning snack as I get really hungry after lifting...usually half an apple and some carrots)
5-6 - Dinner

Should have a later snack but I don't. So I guess what I'd do is see if you can get in a snack at around 10-10:30 and go and workout at around 11:30. Eat after to replenish your stores.

Just my opinion and I know there are people who know more than I!

You need to eat both before and after your workout. Have a meal consisting of complex carbs and lean protein 60 minutes before you train(ie; brown rice and chicken breast). Then immediatley after you are done training have a post-workout shake(PWO). This should consist of whey protein and some form of carbs in a 2:1 ratio( carbs : protein). Then an hour after your shake have another meal similar to your pre-wo meal.

I workout at lunch all the time.

I eat breakfast at about 8. I sometimes, but rarely, have a small snack at around 10:00 am, but mainly just have my workout drinks in and around my workouts. Then I eat lunch about an hour after my workout ends.
