Diet, Nutrition and SupplementationPost here for supplement reviews or nutritional advice. If you're trying to get "ripped abz" THIS is where you should be.
I am going to begin a cutting phase and I am looking for the best supplement to help me maintain muscle and assist in burning fat.
Now, I know there’s no such thing as a drug that is going to shed the weight off without me doing anything, my diet and exercise program are ready to go. I bought some Thermo Gain the other day and ended up reading in several places, that it’s nothing but an overpriced, non-working, jar of caffeine, so it's going back, and I'm looking for something that works.
Here we go!
Name one and only one supplement that will help me reach my goal, and let’s here why you think it’s the best.
I have been able to find a new and revolutionary supplement that is going to change the health and fitness industry forever. It will make people more healthy than ever before.
It's called Healthy Natural Food!! You would be amazed at the results.
He already said that he is following a good diet and exercise plan. Yes, I agree that eating clean is 80% of the game, but there is room for supplements to aide the process along.
Thank you Ripstone and LostDog for the good answers!
As for you others, you did not answer the question properly! Most of the people that read my post know that I have been training my ass off, and my diet is about as tight as it’s going to get. You folks are wasting what valuable brainpower you have pumping a bunch of worthless information into a post that is looking for decent answers from people that know what they are talking about.
PLEASE READ AND ANCWER THE QUESTION OR LEAVE THIS THREAD!
Ripstone – this EC stack you are taking, what is it, not sure what you mean when saying EC?
LostDog – I am not currently taking any creatine, I have heard that some are better working than others, what do you recommend?
Everyone – Feel free to chime in with useful information about what supplements best assist fat burning and maintain muscle!
You never posted your workout, your diet or your stats. I bet we can find a lot of holes in there.
You're looking for a quick fix. There isn't any. The only supplements I have ever used are whey protein (and that is only in pre and post workout drinks) and creatine.
Post your workout, diet and stats so we can settle this. If there aren't any problems then I am sure the people that didn't answer your question the first time around will answer it.
One thing you should know about most of us here is that we try to help by improving the major parts of your lifestyle first (workout and diet). If those are in check then we can move onto the smaller things, things like supplements. They're just trying to give you the best help they can, and they can't do that by just suggesting supplements if they don't even know how everything else holds up.

I've made some huge mistakes, but they were necessary, because without them I wouldn't have learned anything.

In effectiveness, I think that all creatine is about the same. Look for micronized creatine.
However, I think that they all do the same thing as long as you take the same amount. It's just the mixability/dissolvability that's different/better/worse.
I'd avoid the pre-mixed drinks and mixes, as they are very expensive per dose. Avoid liquids completely. Buy powders only.
If I find a big jar on sale, I buy it. I bought about a year's worth last month at a GNC for a mere $9.00! A huge tub that wasn't selling since they push the "fancy" ones as being more effective.
Target and Walmart even had good deals for a while, but now, they just have the more expensive mixes/drinks.
Fish oil seems to provide all sorts of benefits... for me as well as reports from others. I know you already said you eat well, but I thought maybe this could be considered a "supplement". A good balance of fats can help lead to fat loss and muscle gain, if only indirectly.

Excellent point. I swallow 12 of those capsules a day.
