Everyone I've asked so far have told me to stay away from any type of food supplementation because it causes some accumulating damage to the kidneys or liver or whatever..
Is that really true for ALL types of supplements, or just certain kinds..
I'm having trouble increasing weight lately since I have no idea how to achieve my target protein intake, so I'm seriously considering starting with supplements.
Is it completely safe?
If it isn't I would appreciate if you could link me to some research or anything of that source.
Thanks!

What supplements in particular are you talking about? For the most part, the supplements that seem to be most widely used by the users on this board and others, are completely and 100% safe and even improve health in many respects. These include, Creatine, Whey Protein, Casein Protein, Dextrose, Maltodextrin, Surge, Grow!, Multivitamins, Fish Oil Capsules, etc.

I don't have the studies to prove to you that these things help when used properly right now, I am strapped for time, however I can get some stuff back to you later, and I'm sure others can link you up to the tons of research proving the benefits of the supplements that I listed.

Remember this, the general public is more or less brainwashed in terms of health and science these days. The myth that food supplements cause kidney and/or liver damage has long been debunked.

PS: By the way, a lot of the supplements that I listed are simply extracted from natural foods that are eaten everyday....Creatine is found in red meat, Whey Protein is found in milk, Casein Protein is found in milk and cottage cheese, and the fish oil capsules simply come from fish. This alone is a strong detraction from the argument that food supplements are dangerous.

Are you absolutely sure? even around here people have been talking about the damage creatine does to your liver (no idea about the other stuff, that's kinda the reason why I'm asking )
Does the general public include certified nutritionists? I've taklked to a couple about this back when I started my weight gain diet and both said I should avoid any kind of artificial stuff at all costs.
It's obvious to me that natural stuff always beats anything artificial in the way your body accepts it, but do supplements do any actual DAMAG or perhaps contribute to incorrect muscule development? ;[
