Diet, Nutrition and SupplementationPost here for supplement reviews or nutritional advice. If you're trying to get "ripped abz" THIS is where you should be.
A patent has been filed and I'll keep the formula-activation secret out of the public domain forever. Like the secret Coke formula, I consider the Spike formula to be one of our most-valued assets. As such, I'm not going to discuss one single thing about the science behind it, and I'm certainly not going to publish what makes the power turn on.
You know if aliens were to look at us today and go back 100yrs or even 1000yrs, they would still conclude that we believe in magic, despite our technical advancements.

I can think of a few other things it could do for me....
I think it's kinda weird that he's refusing to reveal how it works. Makes me kind of weary.

What about athletes, anything in Spike that is banned by the NCAA or other sporting bodies? In other words, if an athlete takes it are they risking a positive test?
Good question and one I've been considering. Bottom line, I can't see any way it would cause someone to fail any drug test. Still, I'm going to look further into this issue. I have several elite athletes I want to use Spike. I'll keep you informed.
Hmm.... So they don't know if you will pass a drug test? Sounds a lot like the Barry Bonds excuse "I didn't know"

Very good comparison. Yes, Spike is the "MAG-10" of the brain-candy/neural-power world.

There are actually a lot of things banned by the NCAA so this is a concern for a lot of college level athletes. I plenty of legal OTC things that regular people can buy and take are outlawed by them.
But don't get me wrong the "special report" was rediculous.

I know that there is a bunch of stuff outlawed, but what I don't get is that they don't know if the indgredients are outlawed. That's what I don't get.

Hey, these guys know their market though. 14 year old boys with raging testosterone and other hormonal imbalances are particularly vulnerable to this kind of marketing. Wow! So effective that they CAN'T publish the active ingredients. I'll take 5 cases!
Alright, I'll be the guinea pig. I'll bet you are all as curious as me if this stuff works
I'm a serious coffee junkie, and it takes a lot of stimulants for it to register in my system, so this stuff will need to be very good for me to notice anything.
One order placed...I'll report back in a week or so on Spike's efficacy.

T-nation is kinda sad they all look like a bunch of brainwashed geeks that don't want anything but biotest...
I've tried a few of their products, and they seem to be excellent (e.g., Low-Carb Grow, Surge). So I thought I'd take the bait on this one. I'll write a little review of it after I give it a try.

Sweet, let us know the deal. And the purpose of my post was not to bash T-nation, I just thought the description and the way it was being marketed was too funny to pass up. I'll bet the bottle comes to your house in a radioactive container and by men in white chemical suits with government logos...

While they're here maybe I could get them to remove my old gym sneakers
I definitely would love to see your results Johnka. I too am interested in this stuff, but the hype surrounding their products seems like its all too good to be true, except for Low Carb Grow! and Surge (both great products).
supplements would require a prescription if they were as effective as they claimed. After all, a substance with strong biological properties, used in an unsupervised manner, can produce serious life threatening effects. Does this mean if something is easily obtainable, it is useless? no, but you must exercise caution before ingesting something made from ingredients you are not familiar with and made under conditions you know little about. always ask yourself. why am I taking this? what do I really know about this? is it the answer to your prayers, or the beginning of your problems. Remember if someone does something in secret they have something to hide. Dr. Joseph Gables comes to mind here (Nazi minister of propoganda) if you tell a lie often enough, people will believe it. American manufactures are great at using this form of manipulation. Look you got Johnka to use this.

With all do respect to everyone, I think many supplements out there are over rated. I barely have enough money to buy protein powder, quality groceries and multi vitamins for god sakes, I just added gatorade powder to my line-up of supplements so thats as far as I will go. Money isn't the big issue here although, using the supplements I listed and less, I can gain muscle mass and cut body fat quite efficiently.
I think the best supplement to one's training and nutrition is knowledge. I think if you had the extra money and were willing to use your body as a lab rat and try these out it would be interesting. Speaking for myself, really all I would be doing with "ground breaking" supplements is either speeding up results I would see with hard work and patience or on the extreme side seeing results I wouldn't normally ever see legally and/or naturally which would be bullshitting myself. I think a lot of kids run out and buy all the high tech supplements and waste their money when they could get a greater benefit from investing in the supplement of knowledge.
Biotest is selling supplements, not trying to exterminate an entire race of people. Let's keep the analogies within the realm of sanity fellas.
I did get the bottle yesterday Newlife - I'll wait about a week to write a review so that I can give a more informed opinion.
I don't have any delusions that this supplement will make a difference in terms of my physique - I'm mostly interested in the stimulatory effect. I'm aware that it's not going to be as effective as prescription drugs - otherwise I wouldn't touch it. I don't want it to work so good that it becomes necessary. But a little boost during the day while writing papers/teaching would be nice.

I'm sorry did you say nazi minister of propoganda in there somewhere? Damn dude....just....damn...
READ People, I was using a quote he was famous for saying. Another consideration is the issue of legitimacy. Let me state here right now that one single dietary supplement has been shown to be as effective as any anabolic steroid period. In fact, none come even close. To put it another way, if these supplements were as effective as claimed, they would have to be regulated by our drug enforcement agencies. the fact that they are not gives some indicatin of their usefulness.

Awesome Johnka. Looking forward to hearing what happens. I'll bet the stuff works as a stimulant.

No one here is saying Spike will act like a steroid. No one here is claiming any supplemnt will. And for most people here thats a good thing. Its much less severe. Johnka isn't looking for something to grow him huge muscles, he is seeing if this can replace some of his coffee, which by the way is legal and effective as a stimulant, as a better legal effective stimulant.

also, just because a new substance is legal now, doesn't mean it always will. classifications of things change all the time. plenty of examples in the US: ephedra-based stacks, GHB, etc.
