Diet, Nutrition and SupplementationPost here for supplement reviews or nutritional advice. If you're trying to get "ripped abz" THIS is where you should be.
I recently purchased some Omega-3 supps. But I have no idea how much to take, how often or the best time. The suggested use is take up to 3 times daily. How does a person know how much to take and when??
These are not just fish oil...they contain the following -
I don't think they're bad. Possibly more "hype" than good value. Each of those things is fine, it's just whether or not you actually need them all.
You might get a better deal with pure fish oil. I don't take flaxseed oil anymore, just take extra fish oil now. I get flax in other things, and for Omega-3s, fish oil's a better deal.
I've seem Omega-3 Supplements at Walmart and they seemed pretty pricey compared to the individual ones, taken separately.
As Lost_Dog said you are better off w/ pure fish oil if only taking one supp. This is because you really want EPA/DHA first and foremost. The flax oil is only supplying you with the omega 3 acid called LA.
The Oleic acid also isn't needed really if you take in lots of almonds, Olive oil and other sources of MUFA.
Basically for an omega 3 'supp' the best bang for your buck is a concentrated fish oil. This is because I would reccomend getting at least 2-3 grams of combined EPA/DHA daily. At the concentration in those pills you will be popping them so often people will think you are a painkiller addict.
