Hello all, I have a question for those of you on Adams Diet...What exactly do you eat and at what times...I trying the diet starting Monday & I'm just trying to get an idea of how to plan my meals correctly, for instance with the two fruit servings, is that considered a snack or can I have an apple or pear with a sandwich at lunch, and also is there a certain time of day to not eat fruit such as late night? Also, is it okay to season the poultry, seafood & lean meat, ie Lawrys seasoned salt, Accent, Old Bay? One more question concerning the pre/during/post shake, can someone give me suggestions on what to buy at GNC to make this shake? Thank you all very much

WoW! nice pic! I am also planning on starting the diet, but in two weeks. I would start it sooner, but next week starts finals week, so I need to put all my attention and effort to passing my classes. I pretty much have the same questions as you, but as far as the pre/during/post shakes, all you need is whey protein powder which can be purchased at a lot of places, and a lot of people are using gatorade with it. As far as the seasonings go, A lot of them have sugar, but the amount of seasoning the average person puts on their food isn't that much, I would say yes, but I'm not the one who wrote the diet lol.
Sorry I couldn't help much, but good luck on the diet, looks like you really don't need to go on a diet, but it's an overall healthy way of eating.
Terrence
Hey TerranceCA thanks for the compliment and information, & good luck in 2 weeks! Yeah I'm going to go light with the seasonings, but I need to use them again because lately I've been seasoning my meals with herbs and spices that contain no sodium and my food comes out tasting so bland, I also use Mortons Salt Substitute but I don't care too much for the taste, I think it's too bitter

Unless you have a high blood pressure problem, the seasonings should be fine. Unless they have a lot of added sugar, herbs and spices contain very little calories/carbs.
For my shakes, I use fruit punch flavored gatorade and vanilla protein powder. It tastes pretty good.
Good luck on the diet. The shakes should probably be made up of whey protein and maltrodextrin or some type of complex carbohydrate. I use 100% Whey with NOW Sport's CarboGain. Its 100% maltrodextrin and its cheap. I mix them together in milk, but your probably should use water. They do the trick for me and I think they would do it for you. Good luck again.

On a side note: My shakes dont taste too good but you got to do what you got to do is the way I see it. Just chug. If you purchuse your supplements online you can get a deal.

My shakes taste good. But you can't think of them as traditional shakes. They are more like sports drinks with protein. It's too bad that folks call them shakes and not just drinks. That would set better expectations.
Also, many people just use maltodextrin, which often is unflavored. Mix that with already poor tasting whey and you have an awful, but very sweet, concoction to choke down.
I use Gatorade powder. Fruit punch tastes best, but the red gets on stuff and stains. Lately, I've used the blue Arctic Blast, which is very lightly colored when mixed with water and protein powder. Still tasty, but less "normal" tasting.
Also, I dilute mine by a lot. I drink a lot during a workout, but want to keep sipping the "shake" through the whole workout. I hate switching to water or having to carry two bottles. My drink comes out to 1 liter with the added water.
If you prefer maltodextrin, try adding some Crystal Light powder to it for flavor. When I have a protein drink on non-workout days, I make it with a glass of Crystal Light instead of water or gatorade, since I don't want the sugar on off days.
Thanks LostDog very informative. I love this forum.
