So I'm trying to put on some pounds now and then do my cutting cycle later to look good for the ladies in summer and all that. Seriously though, I have this question. I have been bulking for about 3 weeks now and have gained right at 4 pounds. On more than one occasion though, I have been told I look skinnier. Is this a good thing? My weight IS INCREASING. I do feel stronger. But they are saying I'm looking skinnier? I guess this is a good thing...

lets summarize your goals and see if this is a good thing:

1) Putting on Weight -- Check
2) Getting Stronger -- Check
3) Minimizing Fat Gain -- Check

Looks like you are doing a good job to me.

Well, what they are seeing is some fat loss. The lean, muscular look sometimes doesn't shine through while you're wearing clothes. Plus, if you've lost some weight in your face, that always makes people look thinner, and since you don't have any muscle to build in its place, they won't see it.

Just wait until you put on another 4 pounds of muscle and see if people notice!
