So I have decided to go ahead and give this "clean eating" thing you guys do a try.

Its been a while since I have had a very clean healthy diet. Some of my choices are usually pretty good but I eat a lot of fast food, fried stuff, and sugar. Not to mention cheetos because I love those. But I think its starting to catch up to me from a performace perspective. I went grocery shopping today and got a bunch of stuff like I used to eat to keep me on track. No specific diet or anything just food that is actually healthy.

I am still bulking but I am going to try to make this last 10 lbs come from mostly muscle if possible. The only real exception to the clean eating thing is processed pastas that I will eat postworkout. Its easy to make and is a pretty good after workout meal.

No real point to this other than to let you guys know that I am doing my best to come back over to the light so any motivation you have for me would help. Recent pics of JP and Johnka as well as Kaisers new start have already kick started the motivation.

Hey Danny-

I think it's awesome that you're giving it a go again. I'll attribute eating clean to 98% of my progress (Went from 210 to 175, @10% BF now). From what I've read from you, you definately have the determination to do it, now you just have to actually do it. I think you'll notice good results, good luck man!

But its so much easier to pop a frozen pizza into the oven that to cook a bunch of brown rice and chicken. Thanks for the encouragment though I will need it to really give up my McDonalds and Wendys. But I also know that I really need these next ten lbs to be mostly muscle so that should help.

Yeah, I understand where you're coming from there. Did you read this article by JB? It helps a ton:

http://www.t-nation.com/readTopic.do?id=515037

I started cooking a bunch on Sunday (put a TV in my kitchen so I can watch football and cook). That helps me so I can just grab a bunch of food on my way out the door. It's hard w/ school I know, I just got through with that in May, but luckily I had an office I worked in at school so I could put some stuff in there. But you can for sure find some food to bring that won't need too much refrigeration.

And if you need help w/ giving up McDonald's and Wendy's, I can tell you some awful stories if you want. I just got done auditing Wendy's biggest meat supplier and I can tell you exactly what products Wendy's uses for hamburgers, it's not really what you'd expect...

Well I'm glad my pathetic state can be used as motivation for someone.

I think the clean eating will benefit your powerlifting as well. I mean, you're going from regular with ethanol to premium with added octane boosters! Good luck.

Wendy's and some other fast food chains buy the cheeks of the cows along with some other parts that we couldn't really identify. The cheek is actually pretty meaty, but we got to see them about 5 minutes after the cow was killed, and they were still twitching since they have so many nerves. It was this huge friggin bin of twitching cow cheeks, all I could think about was that that will turn into a 1/4 lb. Double Stack w/ Cheese. Yummy...

EMartin, unfortunatly hearing stuff like that doesn't really bother me for some reason.

But, I have just about all the motivation in the world I need right now to eat right. I had one frozen pizza left in the freezer and decided to eat it today just to finish it off and have a last goodbye. Holy crap was that a bad idea. I had pizza wanting to come up all workout. It was rough. I was dragging and felt like I had 30 lbs of crap in my stomach. Bring on the brown rice and chicken!

Lol, that's understandable. One of the guys on the slaughter tour with us went straight to Wendy's and got 3 hamburgers. It's not really that uncommon, just not for me...
