ok wel basically i went there to buy calipers, but they didn't had any. The guy was so nice to lend me his turns out i have 13% of body fat .. my omron meter sais 9% and mybodycomp.com says 10% .. so a bit confused now what is more thrustworthy?

anyway time for the real question
I told the guy that I was eating 200g of protein each day min. he told me that this is too much (I weigh about 187 pounds) and that i should eat 120g ..
anyway If you make the calculation 120 * 4 = 480 calories ... this isn't enough, where should I get the rest from then? or am I totally wrong here?
he said he could see that my fat was from proteins because it was soft... hard fat would come from carbs

this is all new to me, never heard this before and I can't believe it actually .. But I'm wondering why would the guy lie to me, he wasn't trying to sell me anything so i'm looking for a reason why he was wrong ...
or was he right?

The amount he gave you is based on the minimum usually recommended for athletes or weightlifters. You could probably do alright on that amount but why not go a bit higher. You hit it on the head when you said where do the other cals come from all day. Thats a lot of carbs and fat to be eating. I would rather eat more meat.

The first red flag was "200 g protein is too much". That stuff about hard fat and soft fat is completely over the top.

Eat as much protein as you want, as long as you're getting sufficient veggies, healthy fats, and post-workout carbs.

And enough fiber to keep things moving along. And have no renal function compromise.
