If it's free, then by all means use it. I'd add protein to it for pre, during, and post workout drinks.

Without the protein, it looks like a sports drink with creatine added. Both are fine things and certainly recommended by most people.

What are your workout goals? The drink amounts will vary, depending on whether you're trying to put on or lose weight.

I'm currently trying to add weight, so I take in about 600 (total) calories in pre, during, and post workout drinks. For me (about 185 lbs), I'd drink one serving about 10 minutes before workout, with 12g of protein added. Then another identical drink sipped throughout the workout. Then a double batch, again with protein, immediately after working out. Your mileage (or is it "kilometerage" over there?) may vary.

is there any value in taking it as a post workout drink??
My workout goals are just to get in better shape.

I'm a hard gainer (6ft 180lbs) but I generally dont count calories. Over the last year I've gained approx 8-10 pounds of muscle. Diet is reasonably clean but with work I find it hard to make it to the gym as often as I should...

The post work out drink I use at the moment is a high carb sports drink when leaving the gym and a protein shake as soon as I get home...
