Most people on here will probably not recommend having it with bread because that is too many carbs before bed time. I personally prefer it plain, but a lot of people like to put fruits like blueberries, or raspberries in it.

I alternate between:

-plain
-with flax oil
-with canola oil and pepper
-with apples and walnuts
-with walnuts and Splenda
-blended with whey, sugar-free Jello mix and PB

I have my before bed cottage cheese with a tbsp of natty pb(stirred in), unsalted almonds, or flaxseeds and jelly(stirred in). I would not recommend the bread.

I just eat it. Then chase it down with some water and fish oil capsules.

Cottage cheese on bread? The hell? Thats disgusting!

I think the general conscensus will be by itself in a nice glass bowl or some other approriate container...

Personally:

Plain
Or with walnuts
Or with a handful of almonds on the side
Or, occassionally with raw peanuts, on the side

I eat it plain now, but used to mix in some crushed pineapple. I slowly weened myself off the pineapple because of the carbs. Now I love the stuff plain. Also you can play around with a few different brands. I found I like the Purity 1% the best.

ohh last night i had a cup of cottage cheese, and then i had a bowl of veggies. long story short, i felt sick the rest of the night.
the brand i like the best is nordica 1%, but only the .5L size. the 1L size always tastes a little weird

Hey, sorry to bump an old thread but I just ate some cottage cheese for the first time ever. It was a little rough... I tried eating it straight at first... I could probably get it down ok chasing each bite with water but I mixed in some frozen berries and it made it a little easier to eat. I hope I'm not sabotaging myself by putting the berries in. I think I can eat it plain evenutally but it certainly seems to be an acquired taste.

Oh... I just picked up a little snack pack with four, 4oz containers... 2%.

Try a half scoop of protein powder (~2Tbsp) stirred in. Lately I've been having a whole scoop of Milk Protein Isolate with a half cup of CC and just enough water to give it a pudding-like consistency as a before bed snack. It's pretty tasty. Before getting the MPI, though, it was a whole cup with splenda and cinnamon. Also a tasty option.

I found an easy recipe...I keep my protien powder at work...so I add a teaspoon of vanilla extract and a couple teaspoons of splenda.

Tastes like vanilla pudding!!
