Hi,
I was hoping that someone might be able to give me some suggestions as to why I'm not gaining anymore strength.

Current workout is 5x5 routine 3 days per week from John K. Williams site. I know that it was originally used for cutting, but I was told that it would work as a general program if I eased off the cardio and kept my caloric intake up.

Monday
Bench
Chins
Incline bench
Weighted dips

Wednesday
Narrow stance squats
Bent leg deadlifts
Clean and press

Friday
Arnold press
Shrugs w 3 second hold
Curls
Tricep press

It doesn't seem to matter what routine I try, I get marinal improvements for the first couple weeks (which I think is mainly due to my muscles learning to do the new exercise) and then no growth. In fact, I often see a small peak and then regress a little and hold at that point.
I'm getting at least 50% of my calories (if not more) from lean protein such as cottage, cheese, chicken, whey protein mix, and I have eased off on my running (2 - 3 times a week, 5 miles per time) I'm shooting for 2100 calories per day, due to the fact that I am a little guy (5'8" 150 lbs) and sit at a desk all day.
Any suggestions? I'd appreciate help, becuase I always seem to run into this. I've been training for a couple years now, but the stregth just doesn't seem to develop.

Opps, this should have been in the training section. Sorry. I'll re-post there.
