how do you guys feel about GNC's mega mass? it has 600 cals, 51g protein, 89g carbs, 4.5g fat. if that is split up into pre/post drinks, it should at least give some good numbers right? sorry i can't find a link, otherwise i would post the ingredients.

if i remember right, its mostly whey, malto and fructose. IMO, there are much better choices than this.

ya i found the ingredients.
maltodextrin, protein blend(whey protein concentrate, calcium caseinate, total milk proteinate, whey protein isolate), fructose, medium chain triglycerides, guar gum, pro performance enzyme complex(protease l, protease ll, peptizyme SP, lactase, amylase) natural and artificial flavour.
so you were right massive. you actually named the three largest ingredients, good memory. i tried it this morning and wasnt exactly impressed with the powder itself anyway. thanks for your reply

lol ya i was fooled by the name. im not embarrassed everyone does it . a lot of people are having protein powder and gatorade powder, and i was even having 100% whey with gatorade powder for a while, but i cant help thinking that that can't be the best way. i know it's different for everyone, but do you have a few 'top choices' (that don't have to be ordered online)?

hey, i used mega mass myself years ago.

IMO, here is the best thread on pre/post workout nutrition out there because it mentions food and is not trying to push a product

I worked at GNC for 3 years, and never tried to sell this stuff. IMHO, it's crap, and I think something like Muscle Milk or using just a straight whey like you said can pack on the calories pretty well too. But like massive said, I would always suggest eating whole foods in lieu of weight gainer shakes. Just my 2 cents...
