Everything I read says eat 40p/30c/30f or Berardi suggests 50c/25p/25f. But if you are only suppose to get 1g protien per lb of bodyweight, and you are bulking you will get closer to 2g per on the 40/30/30. So if I go with the 50/25/25 I get close to 400g of carbs but the right amount of protien. Should I take the extra protien or extra carbs?

1g of protein per pound is just a recomendation. Some people go as high a 4g per lb. I would stick with 40/30/30 unless you are really trying to out on some serious pounds. IMO Berardi's caloric recomendations are a bit extreme.

Berardi has several Massive Eating articles which, if followed, would get you to a high calorie count. But, those numbers are only valid if you're following his Massive Eating plans. If you ate that much using Clean Eating or TAP style diets, you'd get fat.

Berardi is using a diet that follows very specific patterns of what to eat with what and what to eat when. If you at all those cals under most other eating plans, it wouldn't work.

In the lastest MH Muscle, he has a sample diet for gaining weight. It's a more "normal" diet and has a more normal calorie count, too.

Also, I think that that high carb number for your Berardi eating ratio might be for a workout day. Berardi's pre, during, and post workout drink recommendations are higher in cals (of carbs and protein) than many people typically drink.

I have the MH Muscle and I will check out the diet. I have been eating 3000 a day and haven't gained a lb in 5 weeks. I am going to have to up it for a couple months. I want to gain 10-15 lbs by the end of Feb.
