Question

In light of the offering of Adam's diet and more recent work by Jeff Volek, can anyone (Adam?) say if the Testerone Advantage Plan is still a worthwhile read? (Not dollar cost, but time spent, versus other necessary reading.) If so, is there one edition particularly worth getting versus another?

I think it's a great book to recommend to people who are trying to get fit. It lays it all out (lifting and "clean eating") in simple terms. It's got good food examples and a good workout that's not too much for a beginner (or someone who's been lifting, but not in an organized, thought out way).

If you're already eating clean, you probably know most of it.

I think it's great for beginners, because it's a moderate carb diet that won't scare anyone off. It lays out it's case in a well-thought out way.

I wish more trainers at my gym would read it. They're still pushing the steady state cardio and low fat diets.

Between the hard and softcover... I've purchased the softcover version for about three of my friends and one for me. It's got a nine week lifting program. The hardcover has an extra 9 week lifting program called "Advanced TAP" and a hardcover but costs about three times the cost (the softcover is only $13 at Borders).

Thanks, Lost_Dog. Sounds like the softcover will get added to my next Amazon or BN order.

I think the book is good for someone just starting with lifting and looking to clean up their diet, but I would think you would find a lot of the information redundant. I mean, you've been on the MH boards and this board to know what you will find in this book.

I bought the book a few years ago when I was unaware of how to clean up my act. If I bought it now I would be disappointed with my purchase.
