I recently heard somewhere (can't remember where) that diet soda can cause tooth decay like regular soda. I'm not a mad diet soda drinker although I do find diet coke vanilla really gets rid of a sweet craving!
Yes, new research has found that the acid in soft drinks contribute more to tooth decay (actually it eats away the enamal) than the sugar. Basically for your teeth a diet coke is just as bad as a normal coke (weight loss/gain wise obviously the coke is still worse). Interestingly they also found that the lighter the color of the drink the worse it was. Cant remember the reason why though.
