What is your take on supplementing with colostrum for increasing hgh, igf-1 and other growth factors? It is known that natural growth hormone and other growth factors are well absorbed, and they can boost the bodies overall levels.

Some studies are showing hgh, igf-1 and other growth factors contained in colostrum are not destroyed by digestive enzymes in the gut, mainly due to the fact that they're protected by cassein. The study showed they are able to pass through the gi tract and exert systemic effects by increasing overall hgh and igf-1 levels. the same study showed individuals had lower levels of cortisol.

another study I looked at done at the children's nutrition research center, department of pediatrics, baylor college in houston, texas, researchers used a control group found among the colostrum fed "plasma IGF-1" was higher than in the control group.

interesting topic.

Colostrum got a bad name when Bill Phillips gave it a thumbs-down, but many people say that his skepticism was unfounded and unwarranted.

Real colostrum has been demonstrated to increase IGF-1 in athletes during strength training, and various studies have shown it increases performance (vertical jump and running).

The bad thing is, to replicate these results, you'll need to get in around 20 to 60 grams per day. This is expensive, so most people don't even bother.

Also, if you're lactose tolerant, then colostrum is not for you.
