ok i just got a container of BCAA's from GNC, and i just had some questions on them.
here is what the contents say for each softgel:
L-Leucine (synthetic) 150 mg
L-Valine (synthetic) 45mg
L-Isoleucine (synthetic) 105mg
Vitamin E (d-alpha Tocopherol) 2IU
now for my questions
is this a good amount of everything? sorry to generalize like that but the one thing i havent been able to find is how much to take of what per day or at one time.
i read in Contradictory Nutrition by Marc McDougal that you should take BCAA's between meals, and then after that sentence it has 5g in brackets. does that mean i should be taking a total of 5g each day? the ones i have are 300mg/softgel, which means id have to be taking 15+ each day. this cant be right. BTW i did a search in these forums before posting this just incase, but it didnt get any hits. if this has been answered before a link would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance

also i just reread john berardi's precision nutrition and in there he says to take 3-5g of BCAA pre/during exercise as well as post exercise. how would i go about doing this with the supplement i have? does anyone know of a better/easier BCAA supplement?

Yeah, those softgels are not the way to go. Not too many BCAA's in them, and very overpriced, mistake learned.

A little pricey but Eddie always has great deals, and if you wait usually has 20% off weekends and the like. This tastes delicous and will last you a LONG time. I drink this stuff during workout after already taking in a preworkout shake, and then get some BCAA's in my postworkout shake. I would definitely reccommend this product!
Compare the softgels with these stats per serving size:
L-Leucine: 3420mg
L-Isoleucine: 1590mg
L-Valine: 1830mg
L-Glutamine: 2770mg
Vitamin b6: 10mg
90 servings per container BTW.

Go with ICE, can get it at 1fast400.com.
Clemson and Charlie Francis apparently swear by it.

ICE is awesome. Great versatile product.
We do have it for sale.
Why not go with the guy who designed the labels?

decreased muscle damage (less sore) . The ability to do more volume without fatigue . Increased recovery capabilities.
I sometimes have my hoop players do a "renegade style" workout, which involves an absurd amount of GPP,agility training, and lifting .
They are getting stronger and acheiving their goals weekly.
