Every other site I find on Google gives me contradicting answers to this question: Does white tea have more/less/the same amount of caffeine as green?

I have a nice tin of each, but I'm usually more in the mood for white at night. However, I'm always a very sensitive sleeper, and I try to control every aspect of my night-time routine.

Recently I've started drinking the white again around 9pm, and not sleeping well... but I was also not sleeping well in the days before.

The answer that I'm expecting is that the difference is negligible.

If anybody has a trustworthy site I'd really appreciate it!

What the heck is white tea? Do you just mean black tea with milk?

I cant remember, but I'm pretty sure black tea and green tea have the same amount of caffeine, but green tea has more good stuff in it than black.

I've taken to drinking decaf green tea at night for the same reasons you mention about sleeping. Perhaps some decaf black tea would be the answer to your dilema?

uptontea.com:

"White teas undergo the least processing of any of type of tea; young leaves are dried to remove all moisture but preserve the delicate picking. Lighter in body than greens, a white tea yields a refined infusion that is naturally sweet."

coffeetea.about.com:
" Well, just like those other teas, white tea come from the Camellia sinensis plant. But the leaves are picked and harvested before the leaves open fully, when the buds are still covered by fine white hair. Hence the name. White tea is scarcer than the other traditional teas, and quite a bit more expensive.

White tea is similar to green tea, in that it's undergone very little processing and no fermentation. But there is a noticable difference in taste. Most green teas have a distinctive 'grassy' taste to them, but white tea does not. The flavour is described as light, and sweet."

Decaf tastes different (especially in real loose-leaf) and the process eliminates many of the health-benefits. Thanks though-

You should check out white tea sometime (loose-leaf). It's really good!

I will, if I can find any . I'll try to find some specialty shops.
