So I want to start taking creatine becasue I have heard nothing but good things about it. I could use the extra boost in the weight room that it gives and I need to fill out a little. I was planning on taking 5g of the ON creatine powder in my PWO shake with 23g whey,1 scoop gatorade powder 1 cup of grape juice, 1 cup of water. I am not going to do a loading phase cus I don't think its necessary.

Anyways my mom saw that I bought it and got upset saying that I am going to get kidney probelms and wind up on dyalsis. BTW, it took me 2 months to convicne her that whey wasn't going to kill me too. Are their any articles from a reputable source that I can show her so I can convince her I'm not gonna have health problems cus of creatine.

P.S. I'm 18 years old...

A few things to stress:

1 - You need to be well hydrated when taking this stuff.

2 - Side effects reported anecdotally include gastrointestinal distress, nausea, dehydration and muscle cramping - but none of these effects have been documented in scientific studies

3 - A cautionary note is also advised, for people with kidney disorders and for those at risk for dehydration (such as exercise in extreme heat or during cutting weight for wrestling or lightweight crew).

18...move out, best way to get your mom off your back. Creatine is already in your body from eating meat, all your doing is adding more.
