A bit dated, but still a lot of good info in here.

This reminds me of something
someone told me (a long time ago) that our body could only take 30 gr of protein upon itself per time.. so for instance every 2 hours
more than 30 grams would be 'wasted'

is this true or false?
would make my 2g protein per kg daily intake a lot easier if this were false

btw jp i'm very glad you posted this, these are the basics of nutrition and this was just what i needed thanks! what a great site

The 30g thing is an urban legend - there's no data (that I've seen) that would support it.

I think it was Lou Ferrigno that started that one - and if big Lou says it, it must be true.

Nice article. Sometimes I think that people of opposing views can take the same data, and find a way to interpret that data to justify their stance.

That said, I love this quote: Dr Michael Colgan says, "No one ever grew an ounce of muscle from simply gulping protein. Muscles grow from pushing poundage—period." That'll be my new sig for a while, I think.

Hey, eros, here's another article for you to mull over from John Berardi.

PS - hmm....looks like the server's down right now...maybe try it again later. It's a good article, though (if you can get to it ).
