I don't think it's the creatine. It's the protein powder.

You might experiment with other brands and types to find one that works better for you.

Also, some people have had good success with alternating several different powders over different days.

Some of that discomfort could come from the undissolved creatine or protein in the shake.

Thanks for the replays guys. I think both of you are right. I know is one of those things because last week I stop drinking both for 4 days, and I could really notice the difference. i will be more careful when making my smoothies.

Well, it may just be the creatine. I have protein powder with every workout with no gas. The times I add creatine to the mix, I end up blowing a new hole in the toilet (how's that for imagery?!?!)

do you still take creatine? I don't know if you read my last post at "for those of you that lift alone" topic, but I really noticed a difference, and I love that! I'm taking creatine only twice a day and still have "problems", but not as bad as the first week. thanks for sharing...it's good to know that 'I'm not alone'

You might try a different brand. Here's one that Johnka likes, as it easily and fully dissolves.

Creatine that does not fully dissolve can cause your bowels to flood with water and cause diarhia.

I've never heard of gas problems from creatine, though.

No, I stopped. I stuck with it for 3 whole weeks once, with limited results (obviously, since I was flushing it all out). I tried Track, different forms (tablets, liquid, suppositories - just kidding - and a couple different brands). I'd love to try that stuff from Johnka's site (we spoke about it once, I think) but right now I'm broke.
