I was thumbing through the latest issue of Men's Fitness and saw some recommendations for quick meals. I was surprised that they were recommending Stove Top Stuffing and some kind of cheddar/potato microwave things (bleh!!). I don't consider these to be very good choices from a nutritional standpoint. I have also seen similar odd things recommened in MH Magazine. I don't get this, since most of the training experts seem to have converged around similar ideas for clean eating, and I don't think they include Stove Top stuffing and procesed potato puffs. Or am I just being way too food nazi-ish??

I agree with you--it doesn't really make sense considering the idea behind the magazines. What you have is editors being torn between presenting all consistent clean-eating info and also being realistic on what the "average" guy eats. So they sort of toe the line sometimes, especially when they're talking simply about eating and not about changing body comp. For the record, I wouldn't recommend those foods!

Thanks, Adam. I guess I am too "into" this compared with many or most readers, because when I see something like that, it makes me want to stop reading the magazine.

Yeah, but you have Joe Schmoe who eats 6 Big Macs a day, I think Stove Top Stuffing is a step in the right direction. I know it was baby steps for me. You just have to realize what target that specific article is trying to hit. If it's not you, then maybe skip over it. There's still tons of useful info in Mens Fitness.
