If I'm not working out until 3-5pm is it still a good idea to eat a bowl of oats for breakfast?

Are you cutting, bulking, what diet are you following? I eat carbs for breakfast, but I eat them every meal. Most of the time its cool (as long as you are eating protein with it) due to the fact you just fasted for around 8 hours and your system needs food now.

On a side note, what is your body weight? That diet plan looks a little calorie light.

I've always read that you should eat complex good carbs in the morning, but after 6-8 hours of getting in no nutrients I try not wait to wait another 1-2+ hours before getting protein into my system so I like to get a good mix in the morning. My favorite is low fat cottage cheese with cut bananas or grapes and some boiled egg whites.

Oatmeal in the morning is good for bulking or not because of the complex carbs to fuel your day, and i believe the skim milk plus the oats form a complete protein.

Out of curiosity why would you slow bulk when you weigh 146lbs??? And what exactly is slow bulk?

I weigh 191 now, up from 182 7 weeks ago. I consume around 500-600 carbs a day. Which means I have to eat carbs pretty much at every meal.

I usually work out first thing in the morning. I take half a Carbo Force before, and the other half right after(110 carbs total). Then 30 minutes later, follow it up with eggs and 2 cups of oatmeal.

If i lift in the afternoon, I just eat the eggs and oatmeal, but still 2 cups.

I'm doing a slow bulk because I used to weigh 60lbs more and I am afraid of gaining too much fat.
