The better sleep and vivid dreams rumors are true (for me anyway). In this way (better sleep) I imagine it's better for growth.

ZMA is a product that was designed to enhance sleep efficiency. More than 70% of your body's
daily output of growth hormone is released in a single burst about 90 minutes after going to sleep. The release occurs when you enter stage 3-4 sleep (also called delta or slow wave sleep). Studies have shown that the deeper the stage of sleep, the greater the mass of the growth hormone release.
Healing, tissue repair, muscle growth as well as testosterone and growth hormone production are maximized during sleep. ZMA was designed specifically to accelerate and enhance and this healing and recovery process that is maximized during sleep.

B-6 is added to ZMA because because it
has been shown to double to absorption of both zinc and magnesium. The ingredients begin to be absorbed about 20 minutes and are at full strengh in the blood stream at about 90 minutes.
The big downside is that some people are sensitive to B-6 and this can cause some to
wake up shortly after going to sleep. By taking the ZMA at least an hour before going to bed you can eliminate the short term stimulation effect. When the magnesium kicks in, you will become sleepy.
In short, do not take ZMA right before you put your head on the pillow. Once again, try taking it at least one hour before going to
bed. If that does not work, then try taking it 90 minutes before going to bed. This should help you get a more deep and restful sleep. Also taking it on a slightly empty stomach is recommended..downside to that though is catabolism will set in sooner from the lack of protein in your stomach.

I don't have any problems with sleep and so I was never really eager to take it on a continuous cycle.

I usually eat a little over two hours before i take zma. Then I wait about an hour and a half and eat a cup of cc. By that time I am ready to pass out. I've actually had really good results doing it like this. You might want to try it, you get the restful sleep and benefits of the vits and are still able to eat before bed.

Good review Morris. I've also had good results from ZMA, and the sleep is great. Another point is that calcium inhibits ZMA, so it's best to take on an empty stomach. Since I usually have something with cottage cheese in it before bed, I'll drink a bunch of water, set the ZMA on my nightstand, and when I have to get up to go to the bathroom about 3 hours into the night, I'll take the ZMA.
