The BBC News reported that cancers in the gut (stomach, colon, etc.) are some of the most common, but also some of the most preventable. Studies show that the best way to reduce this risk is to consume a wide variety of fruits and vegetables. Onions, apples, celery and broccoli are all highlighted as being particularly beneficial. Veggies and fruit have a host of cancer-fighting elements, such as fiber, folic acid, polyunsaturated fatty acids, and flavonoids.

To your health!
