hey every1 well im only 20 ive been workin out for a little over 2 years on and off but i have not really focused on it i mean i am 6''0 192 and up until a few weeks ago i just ate whatever i wanted. but now i eat like 5-6 meals a day of pretty much straight protein i go w/ like milk for break fast then ill have like chicken w/ salad turkey tuna shrimp and mayb a bar u know doesent really matter how it goes but newayz i dont eat any bread or carbs except for the bars i am trying to get big ive now started taking glutamine every night if anyone has any advice nutrition or supplementation wise it would be appreciated

Sounds like your probably not getting enough carbs.

I'm not an expert by any means but I have learned the following.


Carbs are important if you want to grow.
They should come from vegetables, fruit and whole/multi grain bread. Your body has to have calories for energy. If you are not eating enough carbs it will use the protein you are consuming for energy instead of muscle growth.

do you guys think this is a good diet??
i also take protein before and after working out
fruit
multigrain bread w/ turkey
tuna
chicken w/ salad or veggies
shrimp or salmon
and peanuts as a snack somewhere in there???

It's not enough, I weight 140 and eat more than that. You should be getting your body weight in grams of protein. Protein and some sort of vegetable or fruit should be included with every meal.

Try not to focus too much on protein, and go for a well-balanced diet, including veggies and fruit, whole grains, and good fats from fish and olive oil.

Those veggies and fruits are important, just look through a few of the threads in this forum to see some of the benefits...
