Or, as I like to call it, fLax Butter.

After downing a serving, I had to run (full speed) to the bathroom. I definitely put in too much flax.

However, it tastes greally good, and if I put in less flax seed next time, it'll be great.

I dumped in one pound of natural PB, .75 cup of ground flax seeds, .25 cup of honey and 42g of vanilla whey protein. For stirring moisture, I used .25 cup of skim milk.

I put it back in the PB jar, stuck it in the fridge. I'll finish this batch, just in smaller portions.

Anyway, it's pretty simple, and cheaper than the name brand stuff. (And I'm not exagerrating when I say it tastes really good!)

Good idea Rockhard! I did something similar with just the ground flax seeds and pb. It was definitely tasty, but like PB, hard to stop eating without downing 1000 calories.

Did you use a blender to mix?

I ground the flax with a mortar & pestle, but then mixed it with the PB, honey, etc. in a bowl using a mashed-potato smasher.

I need to get better at the seed-grinding, though, because I've been finding them in my teeth ever since!

Eating clean is SOOOO hard!

Hey, you inspired me. I stopped at the health nut grocery store on my way home from work and bought a bunch of nuts and some flax seeds in bulk. I dumped some flax seeds, almonds, and cashews into my food processor with some salt (used a little too much) and some peanut oil to help emulsify everything. I processed the hell out of it, and it made a really good cashew-almond butter for a decent savings over what I would have paid for almond or cashew butter in a jar (if you don't mind a little crunchier texture than store-bought). I also plan to do this with unsalted peanuts - but the health nut store didn't have any bulk unsalted peanuts for some reason.

Nice! I find a touch of honey is a harmless bonus to these kind of mixtures. Though I bet an almond/cashew mix tastes pretty darn good on its own!

It does taste good, but I really did add too much salt. Blehhh. I didn't have any honey at home to add -- otherwise, I probably would have dumped a little in there. Probably would help with the consistency.
