When should I take a weight gainer? before or after I exercise and at what time of the day would it be pereferable. And also when should I take protein whey?

the possibilites are endless.

if your gainer contains whey and simple carbs, it will digest very fast which is what you want after a workout.

now you can also mix your whey protein with something like dextrose and take that after you workout.

you can mix your whey with cottage cheese or milk and take it before bed.

you can mix whey with some oatmeal with breakfast in the morning.

you can take your gainer as an inbetween snack. but again, if its fast absorbing, you're gonna want to either mix it with milk or eat a little something with it. because what you dont want to happen is taking your gainer, it absorbing fast and leaving you hungry with 2 more hours to go before you next meal.

just remember that you should be getting something in your system roughly every 3 hours.
