Default Newbie question: FitDay or SparkPeople

Currently on FitDay, but only a few day's worth. Just got a recommendation for SparkPeople...

Any thoughts as to which is better, and why? A different site or program than these two?

Thanks in advance!

Douglas

I tried both and preferred using Sparkpeople. (For whatever that's worth...)

Sparkpeople sucks IMHO lol. Try Fitday or even nutridiary.com.

I like dailyburn.com because is so much more simple than other sites and allows you to log workouts as well. Most of the others just allow you to log activities, i.e. did one hour weight lifting, while dailyburn allows you to actually log exercises, weights, reps, etc.

Sparkpeople is fine I think, though I've also used Fitday.

Why don't you like it, Lyrica?

I double check stuff in the USDA site quite often, and have added a lot of my own stuff (meat at different fat percentages, cooked.)

I say Fitday over SparkPeople. There's way too much going on with that one. Nutridiary is actually my favorite.

Bulkier looking and harder to use for me. I like the graphs and other features of Fitday or Nutridiary better. Has a cleaner look to me too-so purely personal preference. I have also been playing around with DailyBurn.com too. Guess I'm a tracking geek. lol

I like daily plate also. I've used both fitday and sparkpeople in the past.

Glad to have found this post, as I was about to ask for recommendations for site to track food, nutrients, and activities. Follow WW but want to track protein intake. Thought dailyplate painfully slow and too much garbage going on with sparkpeople. Definitely like the idea of a cleaner look and will try fitday and nutridiary.

So I'm popping around the internet, looking at some of the different tracking programs mentioned here in this thread.

I looked at dailyburn, but I don't seem to be able to enter my food in grams, only in servings....correct me if I'm wrong.

I went to nutridiary, registered, but it said I already was registered (same email.) It's always easy to figure out my pw, I don't change it, and lo and behold, I did sign up in January '05. My weight was entered at 160. So here it is 4 1/2 years later, and I'm entering my weight as 157.

I'm always fascinated when I see old weights of mine. I can go back into old Fitday files, and others and see what I weighed.

I've decided I want to start tracking again (after a 2 week break) but when I start new I sometimes just want a totally new interface. Kind of a way to clean up my act, re-enter products and such.

It depends on how the food was entered into the database. Some are entered in cups, some in ounces, some in grams, etc. That is one of the downfalls of that site. In a way, it's best attribute is it's worst asset. The database is so much easier to use, because its not cluttered with a million entries. But, to customize things you need to create your own food. Luckily creating your own foods is very easy.

I like that sight simply because I can log my stuff faster and easier than I've been able to do with the others. One of the big problems that I had at first with logging was the time that it took. Now, I can log all my food for a day in about two minutes. If I have to add a food or dish that wasn't previously in the database it might take five.
