Default Problem weighing rice

Hey all,

I'm in a fight with my Tsuri Mai Brown Rice. I make several servings of this on the weekend and store it in the fridge for meals during the week. It seems, however, that every time I make it, the rice ends up weighing differently for the same amounts. Something to do with the amount of moisture absorbed by the rice maybe?

Any ideas? Trying to get some consistency here.

Let's say you start with 2C raw and we'll say that is for 8 servings.
Weigh the raw. Get the nutrients for that weight. divide by 8 for your per serving total.
This will not vary so you only do it once.
Cook it.
Weigh the entire batch.
Take out one serving / 1/8 of the batch.
Done.
If you want to track that closely, that's how I'd do it. That's the same that you do with full recipe - calc what you start with, divide by expected # servings and then try to take a serving that reflects that proportion of the whole - either by geometry or by weight.
