Default Soy protein powder

On a whim, because it was cheaper, I bought a container of soy protein instead of whey. Is there any reason I shouldn't just use it up before buying my regular whey protein again?

Just in case anyone in the near future cares about the answer; no. Soy protein is just as effective plus it has the additional benefit of antioxidants. Thanks all.

Thanks! I'm vegan and prefer hemp or rice/pea mixes, but it's good to know about this 'cause I can get soy *cheap* from the local coop's bulk bin.

Lots of antioxidants eh? What about the percentage of protein per scoop?

The only thing to be aware of is that if you take thyroid meds not to have the soy at the same time as the meds because it may slow absorbtion of thyroxine.

Well, its not antioxidant powder. The kind I got is roughly the same amount of protein per 100 grams as the whey I had.

But you asked per scoop. My soy protein powder has more protein per scoop than the whey did.

Thanks for the articles! I was looking for that top one.

I prefer EAS Premium Protein for its whey/soy blend. The blend makes sense to me and seems to work well.

But I'm not sure i buy the idea that both are equivalent. Personally, I wouldn't consume a 100% pure soy supplement myself, being non-vegetarian now. I think whey is superior in many aspects but the blend balances out the benefits and negates the negatives while a pure soy blend just doesn't cut it for me.
