Default PB LOVERS? Found a palatable substitute! ----->

Sounds odd .. but PB2 .. if you haven't tried it .. it's seriously about the next best thing to real peanut butter .. minus about 75% calories!

I've had some for a while .. but couldn't quite *nail* the perfect recipe to make it taste more like real pb. Well .. I think I have it

Take the PB2 (however much floats your boat), add however much water to make it how thin or how thick you want, add a few drops of vanilla extract (hell .. even banana extract tastes fab .. going to try almond extract next) add a packet of Splenda, and VOILA ...

So my "PB" issue is solved. now instead of going ape-sh*t on my jar of Skippy Natural .. I can finally feel content boycotting that in favor of calorie control, and sticking with the PB2 ... plus I like that it's also natural and doesn't have any additives, it's just peanuts, salt & sugar (and even that is negligible in comparision to most other peanut butters.) The Nutrition stats are impressive:

Amount Per 2 Tablespoon Serving (*when mixed with water):
Calories 53.2
Total Fat
1.87 g

Saturated Fat
0.34 g

Trans Fat
0 g

Unsaturated Fat
1.53 g

Cholesterol
0 mg

Sodium
77.6 mg

Total Carbohydrate
3.4 g

Dietary Fiber
0.48 g

Sugars
1.66 g

Protein
5.65 g

It has just about the same texture of regular peanut butter (and totally customizable depending on how much water you add) .. and it absolutely rocks just dry, sprinkled into yogurt, cottage cheese, etc. If you haven't tried it .. I give it an enthusiastic two thumbs up

Just wanted to give my little review on this goodness for anyone interested in checking it out .. you can get it at www.bellplantation.com

So glad you found something to beat the craving. I would mix it with protein powder and yogurt and try how that is

Ordered another half-dozen bottles of peanut oil yesterday, and I'm having PB2 (with strawberry preserves *ssshhh*) in my cottage cheese right now. *nom*

Man you're killing me!! I'm totally out .. I have an order scheduled to land tomorrow and I'm already salivating thinking riping open the box!!

I saw the peanut oil on their site .. but I can't figure out what I'd use it for .. what do you do with it?

I thought I read something about Leigh mixing PB2 with cream cheese .. have you tried that out? Sounds delish!!

PB oil => cooking. Cooks much hotter than olive oil (good for healthier frying and heavy sauteeing), and I just like the flavor.

I dunno about cream cheese. I tend to layer flavors with cream cheese rather than mix them.

Ahh .. Since I don't fry anything typically ... actually .. I really don't cook anything these days either. Although I'm contemplating getting one of those bad-a$$ smokers that Leigh mentioned in the recipe forum. I used to love to cook .. now I'm just lazy and go for raw foods or anything I can whip up in about 5 minutes. The drawback to being single .. cooking for one blows!!

Have you tried the Chocolate PB2? I wasn't wild about that .. which is shocking!

I wish I could find a cream cheese that didn't come loaded with a crapload of sodium! I checked mine .. and the plain one is like 180mg of sodium, which seems high for just 2 tbsp I might have to just stick w/ my beloved Cottage Cheese since I'm able to find a 'no salt added' version of that

I cook for three or four and load up the Tupperware.

Haven't tried it, and I tend to get my chocolate fix from my protein powder. I lean toward just plain ol' full-fat natty PB.

If you haven't already, start a thread over in the Fat Loss Troubleshoot sub-forum. She pays more attention to that area.
