Default triglycerides

I'm not sure if it's an appropriate topic, but what foods/drinks are associated with high triglycerides. My husband is always diagnosed with high triglycerides - but they never say that he has to go crazy with worry and all his other numbers are normal.

They also never really explain in detail what this actually means. I know or believe it has something to do with sugar.

Anyone have more information on this and what type of diet is best for this.

This is just anecdotal based on my own experience. I had hi tris about 10 years ago. My doctor told me that most people assume it is fat, but actually it is sugar that is the culprit. I cut out sodas which was the best thing I've ever done for a lot of reasons and my tris dropped by a third within one month. Now I try to only drink things that are completely calorie free, tea, coffee, water.

Getting of sugar and processed grains, hydrogenated fats and heated vegetable oils should help quite a bit.
Basically, if you focus on fresh whole foods, add exercise and take a good fish oil supplement, you will see a decrease in triglycerides.
Is he on any meds?

Omega 3s are an excellent means of reducing triglycerides. Have him take a pharma-grade fish oil supplement.
