Default Stomach ache

Hey everyone,

I have recently found out that if I eat whole wheat bread, my stomach begins to ache. Yet, when I eat pasta, cereal, oatmeal it does not occur. What could be the problem. Does anyone else have this problem?? If so, how receive the benefits of whole wheat, while eating a different type of bread. In other words what type of grain is just as good, nutrient wise, that wont give me this reaction???

I dunno about the stomach ache, but it's giving me a horrible case of deja vu.

Seriously, though... what are the "benefits" that you're looking for? If another type of bread, even - shudder - white bread makes the ache go away, how's that bad? Maybe try some other brands and types and see if you find something that doesn't cause the problem. Food sensitivities tend to vary by individual and there's no quick and easy answer.

Sorry about that everyone I though I had post that question on a different forum. But I have been eating a lot of brown rice, and it has been working out fine. I just wanted to see what everyone else who may have this same problem, and there solution. Also, I am not afraid of white bread.

Have you been tested for allergies? Some people are allergic to wheat gluten but are fine with other grains. But an allergy test might provide you your specific profile.

IIRC Barrett was having a bunch of food testing and other testing done some time ago - but I don't think he ever told us the details of what was being looked for nor what was found -

bottom line - there is nothing magic about the nutrition in bread - if it doesn't agree with you - don't eat it.
