Default I am cottage cheese.

If you are what you eat, then I am cottage cheese....oh, and canned pumpkin, too!

I eat tons of the stuff. I go through two or three big containers every week, and two big cans of pumpkin. I don't use protein powders, so I use this as protein source and have one or two cups for breakfast most days. The pumpkin (along with a daily salad) is a big source of fiber for me.

Is eating the same food so often going to present any problems? Can you rely too much on too few a number of different foods? When I think about it I tend to eat alot of the same foods over and over again. I eat a lot of chicken breast, blueberries, eggs, strawberries, peanut butter, apples, celery, etc. I tend to eat alot of the same foods day to day. This helps to make it easier to plan, and to achieve a certain calorie goal everyday.

Any pitfalls here?

If you look at your micronutrient makeup of your food at somewhere like nutritiondata.com (they have a huge breakdown) you can see if you're lacking something and change accordingly. But overall, it has more to do with if you're getting everything you need, not necessarily variety for variety sake. Variety will likely be easier to randomly get all your nutrients, but if you pick the right mix of foods, you'd still get that and not have to eat an "everything under the sun" sampler.

A good multi can fill in your gaps, and maybe a quality supplement vitamin or mineral if you're really not eating something (like vegans will often have to supplement B vitamins).

So first look at what you eat. You're prolly not gonna have huge deficiencies by nature of eating meat, but it's not a guarantee.
