and even beyond that sometimes dry heave. I am taking Kirkland Daily vitamins (comparable to Centrium) per my directives by my nutrionist. I find that after I take them my gut often aches really badly for about 10-15 min. Or sometimes (even worse) they make me want to puke.
When I do a search on this, I find that it is a pretty common thing. What is causing this? It is not every single time but enough that it keeps me from wanting to take them. If I can figure out how to stop the bad feelings perhaps I will be better about taking them....

I don't keep strict timings of when I take them. I eat all the time though so never more than 2 hours beyond food. I never take them on a completely empty stomach like in the morning. Last night I took them after my flight landed from my day trip to CA. I ate a sandwhich on the flight so no more than 1.5 hours beyond that. They made me heave for about 1 hour.

You MUST take all vites, minerals & oils (fish, flax, cla, etc.) with food at ALL times! The minerals need to bind to amino acids to absorb at all, so without food is pointless.
If you are having stomach issues then make sure you take them during the meal, not at all beforehand and not more than 10 min after you finish. And a full meal. not a little apple or something.
Also, try a reputable brand. seriously brands like centrum are full of more binders/fillers/etc. than is nesessary and that can contribute to your stomach problems. They also often use synthetic vites versus naturla sourced. thirdly, bring in your current bottle to a supplement store that sells vites as well as sports stuff like GNC or something and just compare the potency on your current one with an actual sports-formulated brand. GNC has a great Men's Sport vitamin, but most major sports brands do also - ON, EAS, Biox, etc. The difference in potency with surprise you.
I'd try with food, something meal-sized, it might help.
I'd not worry about spending assloads at GNC when you already have a good mix of whole foods you're eating.
Although, it may be something in the vitamins… iirc iron can cause issues for people, even with food.
But in general, between needing fats for some of the vits and the fact that some minerals may upset stomach on their own, I'd see what happens when taken with a meal. If that doesn't work, then it's time for further evaluation.
Multi-vitamins did the same to me if I ate them without food.

Hi! This is my first post...my first day training too! But my experience with vitamins is I take them at night....some types also make me feel like hurling and this helps.
I have a question...I need to lose quite a bit of weight...about 60 lbs. Will this program of weight training help or hinder the process?? Anyone else care to share your experiences?
