Default Tea

Anyone a big fan? I drink herbals all day long. I probably have two dozen varieties in my kitchen at the moment. Current favorites:

~Kalahari's Choco Latte Cherry Vanilla. If there is a tea heaven, this is it. Hard to find, you might have to order it online. Worth every penny.

~Yogi Tea's Mayan Cocoa Spice - also quite chocolately, not as decadently flavored as the above, but more available, less expensive.

~Republic of Tea's Cardamon Cinnamon - another strongly flavored tea, and isn't cinnamon supposed to be an appetite suppressant? This one is warming too.

~Republic of Tea's Orange Ginger Mint - I find ginger to be appetite suppressing too, plus, I think it's supposed to have some kind of health properties.

~Stash's Licorice Spice
~Stash's Green Peach Ginger with matcha

Anyone else have suggestions?

I love tea! My favorite is plain, loose leaf green tea. My cousin sent me a bunch of green teas from random markets in Laos and China the last time she was there...good stuff!

I usually drink it the traditional way with the leaves floating in the tea. The best cup comes from the second brew as the flavors are generally more subtle then. If you don't like waiting for the leaves to sink or dealing with them while you're drinking get a french press.

I'm a big tea lover, but I find some flavored teas can get very overpowering after a while and they tire me out.

I'm a big fan of Yogy Green tea with ginger and the Peach Detox.
Loose leaf white tea is also awesome and there is some green tea flavored with jasmine that I buy from Lebanese stores here, that is just heavenly.

You might really like making your own ginger tea with about 5 slices of fresh ginger, 2 mm thick, soaked in boiling water for about 5 minutes. Add some lemon/lime and honey and voila.

I am also a big fan of homemade masala tea, the recipe for which you can find here

Also, I love to make tea from fresh herbs. I boil some water and pour over fresh mint, sage, thyme and let it sit for about 5-6 minutes. Yum!

I also like sun tea: putting a bag of black tea in cold water and leaving the glass bottle/jar out in the sun all day. Completely different feel and amazing with earl grey.

Lisa, that's not a bad idea.

Hmmm...I have never made my own tea, except sun tea with black tea bags. I usually do grow several different kinds of herbs in the summer though. (pretty much the only food type thing I can grow).

The green/jasmine sounds good. And, since I'm 1/4 Lebanese, I should try it. ...thanks for the suggestions. (you too, Lisa!)

Good one Lisa. In my home town they make something called Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka. I don't know if it's spread across the country yet because basically they can't make it fast enough. Take the vodka, add water and some lemon...very tasty.
