Default Food Logs

When trying to lose weight, I write down everything that I eat for tracking calories, carbs, etc. Just thought I'd start a thread on what different folks use for similar recordkeeping.

I have used the spiral bound DietMinder and really liked it. It's easy to carry in my briefcase to work, and is well laid out for recording daily eatting.

About a week ago I started using Lose It! for the iPhone. I really like how you can look up foods through the internet connection and can manually enter things not found. Best of all it automatically adds everything up and even gives graphical feedback on caloric intake progress vs. daily goal. Downside is it doesn't export data, but it is free so I can't complain.

Any other good record keeping tools out there?

I have used Fit Day off and on for a couple years now and don't have too many complaints about it. I used to use the online version where you could go to dietfacts.com, I think, and it would add the foods from that website to your fitday account, but then I purchased the premium version and you can't do it that way. That is really the only beef that I have.

I've found that it is a bit impossible to keep completely accurate track of your daily calories unless you are weighing every single thing that you put in your mouth. Because of this, I normally use Fit Day to help me plan out my meals for the day as a guideline and try to stick to it the best that I can.

If you're using the iPhone I would definitely recommend using the LIVESTRONG app. It's great, and it's run through My Daily Plate, so it has literally every food you can think of.
