Default Daily Plate Recipe Problem

I use Daily Plate and love it, but lately I entered quite a few recipes and the system seems to have MAJOR glitches in the cals and macros! Has anyone else experienced this?

I have gotten all kinds of crazy results for recipe totals (like 800 cals total when there's 800 cals of ground turkey alone, or 300g protein in a 1200 calorie recipe, or macros coming out 300%/25%/12% for a recipe). When I edit and change one ingredient, it sometimes fixes it, sometimes doesn't... sometimes adding something that is 100 cals adds 500 cals to the total, etc etc...

In general, their recipe feature sucks - it's hard to enter the correct foods and amounts, and very difficult to edit or correct anything. But I could live with it if it at least gave me the right totals in the end.

When I enter each ingredient from a recipe separately on my plate, it comes out correctly. Seems like such a waste of time/effort though, to have to do it that way when I'm going to make recipes over and over (and I also like to be able to glance at it and know the cals/macros quickly).

Anyone else experience this, or have a fix???

Can you just take the numbers from your plate when they are right and enter THAT as a custom food as a whole entity where you supply all the values - rather than putting in the recipe. Or can you not do that with Daily Plate?

I don't use daily plate but I second Lisa's suggestion. I find custom entries work better in my software I'm currently using.

Will daily plate allow you to save a meal? I've done that before too for recipes.

I don't use daily plate, but I did come across a recipe on the site for curried vegetables. It seemed to have an astronomical amount of protein for the ingredients of "Broccoli, Cauliflower and Curry powder."

Thanks Lisa - I like your idea of saving it as a custom entry... And yeah Og - I have no doubt it would come up with something weird like that. I can save it as a meal, but that's not one of their better features IMHO... but a custom entry - I like that idea.
