Diet, Nutrition and SupplementationPost here for supplement reviews or nutritional advice. If you're trying to get "ripped abz" THIS is where you should be.
Just wanted to let you guys know that you can get Nitrean (or anything else at At Large Nutrition - Your number one choice for nutritional supplements.) for 10% off through November 16! Yeah! I love this stuff soooo much! I know some of you are doing TNT and that's where I first heard about it and FINALLY found a protein powder that I love. Gotta love a sale!
The sale is over, but I thought the following information might be of interest to anyone considering trying Nitrean:
I see threads every day on our forums, and others, which address the concern of what is the best protein supplement, and specifically, what is the best protein supplement for the money?
The most common form of the argument presented goes something like the following:
“Protein is protein. Buy the least expensive you can get as it will work just as well as more expensive products.”
The above statement is bunk! First, the cost of a protein supplement DOES have something to do with its quality. You have to understand that the protein supplementation marketplace is incredibly saturated. This saturation literally precludes any company from making a windfall profit selling protein only supplements. If a protein product is inexpensive, especially one offered by a large company with a HUGE advertising budget, you can be rest assured that its quality leaves something to be desired. Quality can take many forms just a few of which are listed below:
- The source of the raw ingredients and how they were processed for the end product.
- The cost of the ingredients used for flavoring.
- What is actually in the protein supplement relative to the label claim.
- The specific forms of protein (the various fractions of whey, casein, egg albumen etc.) in the product.
- Contaminants in the ingredients.
A dirty little secret of the supplement industry is that it is rife with companies that are willing to cut a lot of corners in order to either maximize profitability, or to undercut the market. It only makes basic economic sense that a company cannot afford to spend literally hundreds of thousands of dollars per month advertising heavily in every single bodybuilding, fitness, and strength sports magazine and still sell a product less than their competitors unless they are offering a product of inferior quality.
We at AtLarge Nutrition, LLC (At Large Nutrition - Your number one choice for nutritional supplements.) have spoken of the quality of Nitrean since its initial release. We were one of the first sports supplement companies in the modern era to buck the trend of whey-only protein supplements. In the years since, Nitrean has become our best selling product, has gained industry wide recognition from the likes of Men’s Health magazine and Louie Simmons of Westside Barbell, and has fueled the training of some of the strongest men and women on the planet!
Why is Nitrean so popular? Why is it superior to any whey-only protein supplement? Nitrean’s advantage lies in its unique blend of proteins. Nitrean utilizes a protein matrix consisting of 3 fractions of whey of which isolate is the primary (and also the most prevalent form of protein in the product), casein, and egg albumin. These proteins are combined in specific ratios to ensure optimum amino acid delivery over a prolonged period of time which results in a superior net retention. Net retention of ingested protein is the entire point of protein supplementation. Your body cannot do anything with protein ingested which is not retained. What Makes Nitrean the Best Protein Value on the Market?
Ahhh, now we get to it, the real point of this report. Make no bones about it; Nitrean is flat out the BEST PROTEIN SUPPLEMENT VALUE ON THE MARKET! How can we make this claim? The answer is simple, and has already been stated. Nitrean’s protein blend provides for superior net retention. You can literally use less Nitrean than the competition and get BETTER results. This is not mere bravado; there is research to back this statement. Kerksick et. al published their study The Effects of Protein and Amino Acid Supplementation on Performance and Training Adaptations During Ten Weeks of Resistance Training in the Journal of Strength Conditioning Research (volume 20, issue 3 – August 2006, pp. 643-653). This study demonstrated that a blend of whey and casein proteins significantly outperformed a carbohydrate placebo and a whey and BCAA blend with resistance trained males. What does significantly mean? The whey and casein blend users added an AVERAGE of over 4 lbs of lean muscle mass during the study while the other 2 groups added virtually NONE (all groups did significantly increase strength)!
Bottom line, Nitrean so significantly outperforms the whey-only competition that using 50% less Nitrean will provide equivalent or superior results to those seen with your current whey-only product. You bust your ass in the gym, don’t fuel your muscles with inferior products, get Nitrean and get the best quality, efficacy, and VALUE on the market.
I have no obsession with you, per se, but rather your blatant spamming. You take every opportunity, no matter how inappropriate, to pimp your company's products. This is a nutrition sub forum, not a sales sub forum. There is a reason JP set up a forum specific to sales pitches and offers. It's so this place doesn't become a chaotic clearing house for spammers. Your tactics may be subtle to others, but not to me. Again, it's after the sale of your company's product, but you used MJ's mention of Nitrean as an opportunity to do a sales pitch/hype.
Is it too difficult for you to grasp such a concept? Is it too much to expect you to abide by the same rules all others must? Yes? No? Maybe? Hmmm?
Who? If you're right, then there is obviously a conflict of interest. Mason is the only one I know of.
AFAIK, Alco isn't getting a kickback, neither is that other, but if they are, then their objectivity is in question. I'd like to know who is doing paid endorsements so I can take that into account. I'll start bashing them too, until they start posting their advertisements in the "Offers from our Fitness Experts" sub forum.
Yes, I co-own a supplement company. I also frequent many boards and post primarily about training. I have a LOT of experience in that arena and have helped many. Sure, I mention AtLarge at times when I feel it is appropriate. I think I would be a fool not to. With that said, I feel my contributions to any board I post on more than make up for an occassional mention of my company or products. In addition, as an FYI, I have spoken with this site's owner about running banner ads here.
Again, get some help. Your problem with me or my company has NOTHING to do with what you claim. You are either too sick to realize that, or just a liar. In any event, keep trying if you wish. Your comments don't hurt me or my company. In fact, they only serve to bump threads so that more people can read. How does that saying go? No publicity is bad publicity?
You know, the more I think about it the more it amuses me. Cynic, you lying little twit, what about the Lou Shuler and Nate Green threads in the training section? How is that any different? Where is your rightous bullshit in those threads?
You expose yourself. Time to seek the help you need. You will be glad you did. There is always hope.

I don't see them using underhanded FUD tactics to push their sales:

Where did you learn your marketing strategy? Microsoft?
It doesn't take an angry individual to want to expose what is typical corporate marketing BS. It just takes a desire to expose the tactics so that the consumer can see through the BS and make a better decision.
It's no different than any other consumer market. Know marketing tactics and you can peel away the half truths and deceptions.
As I told MJ sometime back, you may very well believe in your product, but you may also be exercising corporate exec type product confidence. The same as you would find in the tobacco industry.
Sure, then you could supply with the world with a sub standard product by strong arming gyms to carry only your product, that is tampered with every six months because it doesn't have decent safety precautions, or goes bad at anytime, killing and sickening thousands everytime and you'd get away scott free because you made people sign an implied waiver that using your product is at their risk.
Rather than today: suppling people with an expensive product (>$52/4.2lbs) under the questionable pretense that it is an item of high value, using generic and iffy research to support your claim and posting ad blurbs, spam and product hype at every opportunity, regardless of how appropriate or not.
Fortunately, will will likely never be able to do the former, so you'll have to stick to the latter.
Mason, I have zero problem with you rendering training advice in the training forum, or nutrition advice in the nutrition forum. I have a problem with you pimping your shit outside of the offers forum.
As for Lou, JP and Lou are good friends and if JP says it's ok, then I have no voice, but I do agree, even the book offers should go in the offers sub forum (unless a special sub forum is made for it). But I also know Lou to not be a slick pimp salesman peddling stuff under the conditions set in the second paragraph of this post (he's just pimp). He doesn't go from forum to forum first offering advice and then slowly working in product pitches. Shit! You're a mobile T-Nation.com.
Don't mind Cynic, Chris, he's just a disgruntled corporate lackey who's job is going to be shipped to someone equally competent for $5 per week. He hates it when people know more than he does, which is like everyone.

Works for me. Perhaps you could ask the gentleman to leave me alone? I will refrain from replying to his latest debacle of logic.
