Default AB's Diet vs TNT Diet

Which one offers the best results if followed. I have both books and read them both. Both claim about the same thing. Men's Health endorses both books as the greatest thing. Puzzled on which one to follow at the moment.

Which one do you think you can follow?

The abs diet has you eating more "normal" foods and TNT is low carb. Two different approaches, but both lead to calorie restriction.

I'm capable of following both. I'm just wondering if one is better than the other.

Has anybody started one of them then switched to the other? Has anybody done both. If so which one provided a more balanced approach?

Default Went from TNT to Abs

I was interested in trying TNT after reading quite a bit about it, and so I got on it about 8 weeks ago.

I read the book thoroughly and started with plan A.

I should mention - I was starting from a pretty fit place: 5'10", 163lbs, relatively low BF (around 12-13%). My hope in going on TNT was to drop some of the BF and get some good definition.

Although I followed TNT quite closely and found it fairly easy to maintain, I wasn't really thrilled with the results. I dropped about 4 lbs over all, but often would go up and down on the scale, a lb or two, every couple days.

I felt pretty good on the diet.

I was dismayed, though, to go in for blood work a week ago and have a very high LDL (although, to be fair, I didn't get it tested when I started the diet. But it was up quite a bit from my physical a year ago, and was the first time I'd ever had high LDL - I'm 38, male).

Given the combination of not really seeing much in the way of results on TNT and the elevated LDL, I switched to Abs Diet this week (which I've done before).

In the first three days on it, I've already dropped 3 lbs and I feel great.

For me, I find the Abs Diet INCREDIBLY easy to follow. It's pretty much how I like to eat anyway, so I don't feel like I'm giving a lot up. Although I followed TNT quite closely, I DID feel like I was missing out.

I think it really depends on you, what you can/want to follow, etc. I wouldn't recommend against either diet, and I liked both books, but for ME, Abs Diet is the clear winner.

Good luck to you!
