Default Whey Protein

As I am reading some of these forums, it say a good source of protein is Whey Protein Shakes. If I was working out, When is the best time to drink these. Also would I drink them on nonworkout days?

What does it taste like, are they good?

you can drink protein shakes any time. Protein+ fast digesting carbs are good after workout. If you want to slow the digestion of protein, you can add fats or fiber to them. Different kinds of protein shakes are slower digesting than others, but i think fats and fiber work just as well.

The taste depends on what kind you get. I love True Protein's premium flavors. I drank Optimum Nutrition (ON) for years before that. I would go with a basic chocolate flavor no matter what brand you try.

Per Cassandra Forsythe, women are better adapted at mono-unsaturated fat as an energy source than carbs, so nut butter would be a good choice for a protein drink, PWO or not PWO.
