Default Not feeling so great while lifting.

I am finding on days that I do an intense lifting routine, I get about 3/4's of the way through my workout and then I get the feeling of having to vomit, I feel light headed, and really nauseated.

This happened today, it was all I could do not to throw up, I tried to work through it but no go. I had to stop. I ate a kellogs cereal bar (all I had in the daiper bag!) and about 10 minutes later I felt better.

Sooo, are these telltale signs that I am not eating enough pre work out? Or could I be dealing with some other kind of issues?

I am usually awake at 7am, have a cup of tea, eat at about 8am (1 cup of egg whites, 2oz of low fat chedder, handfull of almonds) and then work out around 10am.

Should I try adding some oatmeal or toast to my breakfast? Maybe a quick pre WO snack?

Thanks.

I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will chime in but I have to have carbs before I workout. I usually have oatmeal for breakfast and workout about an hour later.

If not I am lucky to make it half way through a workout. I also have to sip water throughout my more intense workouts.

I'm by no means an expert, but I agree with the carbs pre-workout! I have a really hard time lifting on low/no carbs and tend to get that pukey sick feeling if I'm "low on fuel"!

It could very easilly be cause by not enough too eat or even lack of water (I believe). Personally I tend to get that feeling during a circuit style workout where my pulse and BP are higher. Once I stop, cool down, it tends to subside.

Carbohydrates fuel better workouts.

There are a million articles and diets and recommendations on how to avoid and manipulate carbs at certain times of day... but if you are doing intense workouts, get some carbs in you.

If you want to get nitpicky about physique at some point, there might be some more 'limitations'... but for now, that oatmeal/toast sounds good to me - though some people get the "repeats" from oatmeal if it's eaten too close to a workout.
