Default max amount of protein per meal?

I remember I used to read that there was no point eating more than about 30g of protein per meal, because the body couldn't use that much in one go and the body couldn't just "store" it to build muscle with it later. So what's the deal? Myth?

I think that, or a number something like that(obviously Dependant on bodyweight) is true. Your body can only absorb and use so much protein at a time, and any excess, will just get shitted out or stored as glycogen and then fat.

I mean you can't just eat 600g protein in one day so you can use it for the next 3 days right? Same thing here. I don't think theres a problem with too much protein though, unless its a crazy amount hah.

It's a moving target. The more you eat and more often you eat it, the better you get at using the greater amount. Something to keep in mind is that you might be eating it all at once it doesn't digest all at once. So while you might eat a "serving", you might be digesting for several hours. Assuming you eat again before it's 100% gone from your system, it doesn't really matter what that particular amount is because you're 101% of what you need at that given time. And even then if your body doesn't require the amino acids at that time (because there just isn't a demand) it doesn't particularly matter if you ate 1g or 100g, you don't need it, it's now energy.

There's a cap per meal but it's pretty much irrelevant unless you're only eating once or twice a day.

Larger meals = longer digestion time.

Longer digestion time = pretty much all the protein digested.

Theoretically, there is a rate limiting step in urea synthesis, but this has not been overly examined.

In my opinion, the highest protein in one meal should be LBM in kilograms = protein in grams
